The Faces Behind The Palouse  Pizzeria

Hey Palouse Fam!
We’re Josh & Chelsea, the dreamers, dough tossers 😉, and family behind The Palouse Pizzeria.

I’m Chelsea, originally from the small town of Eatonville, WA, on the west side of the state. In 2022, I packed up my life and moved to Tekoa to be with Josh, who already called this little town home.

Fun fact: we actually met on TikTok. Yes, really 😄. We became best friends almost immediately, somewhere around the time Josh heard me rapping Eminem, and somehow that TikTok connection turned into a home, a family, kids, dogs, businesses, and a whole lot of beautiful chaos.

And right in the middle of that chaos is our rambunctious little threenager, Devyn, who keeps us laughing, running, and very rarely sitting still. Her name has a special meaning too. She was named after Josh’s best friend, Devin Stanton, whose family owned The Old White House Pizza Co., where Josh worked when he was younger. It’s a little piece of that chapter of his life that carried forward into ours.

Josh was born and raised in Colfax, WA, and pizza has been part of his story since his teenage years. Back in the late ’90s and early 2000s, he worked at his best friend’s family pizzeria, The Old White House Pizza Co., owned by the Stanton family.

Those years created lifelong memories, friendships, and a dream that never really went away. The experience of growing up around a small family pizzeria, where great food, laughter, friends, and community all came together under one roof, became a huge part of the inspiration behind what we’re creating today.

In 2024, Josh and I took our first leap into business together by starting Smashed Lemonades, our hand-muddled, flavor-packed lemonade business. It gave us the chance to connect with people throughout the community, learn what it meant to build something of our own, and dream a whole lot bigger.

That experience helped give us the courage to finally bring The Palouse Pizzeria to life.

But there is absolutely no way we could tell this story without talking about Josh’s parents, John & Cheryl.

From the very beginning, they have been some of our biggest supporters and have played a huge part in helping us turn this dream into something real. They have been there through the planning, the problem solving, the long days, the setbacks, and all of the little things that come with trying to bring a family business to life.

Their support, encouragement, time, and willingness to be there whenever we needed them have meant more to us than we could ever properly put into words.

We can say without hesitation that if it weren’t for Josh’s parents, The Palouse Pizzeria would probably still just be a dream.

This place has truly been built around family, with a whole lot of hard work, love, stubbornness, laughter, a rambunctious threenager underfoot, and probably more late nights than any of us would like to admit.

Our hope is simple: to create a fresh, fun, small-town pizzeria where every pizza is made with care, people can slow down and spend time together, and every guest feels a little bit like family.
